Chair of the Harry Ell Summit Road Memorial Trust

Christchurch born, raised and educated, Paula has a BSc(Hons) and PhD in Plant Physiology from the University of Canterbury. Paula is the great granddaughter of Harry Ell and the daughter of John Jameson, the founder of the Summit Road Society. She was elected President of the Society in May 2024, having served as a Board Member since 2016.

Paula is a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Agricultural and Horticultural Science and a Life Member of the NZ Society of Plant Biologists. Paula was awarded the Marsden Medal for services to science and appointed an ONZM for services to plant science. On retirement she was awarded Professor Emerita status at the University of Canterbury.

She is an experienced chair at both local and national levels.
